On January 15, 2026, the first pneumatic-hydraulic actuator for the Main Steam Isolation Valve (MSIV), jointly and independently developed under the leadership of CGN Engineering with Dalian Dago Valve Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Dalian Dago"), was successfully developed and ready for application. After passing the joint Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), it was shipped to the Lufeng Nuclear Power Project site.

The gas-over-oil actuator for the Main Steam Isolation Valve is a key component of the core equipment in the nuclear power plant's Main Steam System (VVP). To further enhance the level of indigenization of nuclear power equipment and secure control over critical core technologies, since 2019, China General Nuclear Power Engineering (CGNPE) and Dalian Dagao have formed a joint team to carry out specialized research and development.

After years of technical research, the R&D team has completed the entire process of product design, process technology and manufacturing, and qualification testing. The final qualification results show that all indicators of this self-developed actuator meet the technical requirements for development and qualification. This breakthrough not only fills the domestic technology gap and achieves independent and controllable technology, but also marks a significant improvement in the integrity of the nuclear power equipment industrial chain.

Subsequently, this domestic actuator will be applied in Unit 5 of the Lufeng Nuclear Power Plant. This achievement will significantly enhance the market competitiveness of domestic nuclear power equipment, accelerate the independent research and development of nuclear power equipment, and is of great strategic importance for ensuring the safe and stable operation of nuclear power plants.
