    Safety Class 1 Motor-operated Bellows Angle Globe Valve belongs to the National Science and Technology Major Project (retrospective funding), Project Number: 2020ZX06004005, Start and End Dates: 2016.01-2019.10, successfully passed the final acceptance review of the national major project.

    On October 14, 2018, it passed the prototype appraisal meeting jointly organized by China Machinery Industry Federation and China General Machinery Industry Association. The appraisal opinion is: It meets the requirements of large advanced pressurized water reactor nuclear power plant projects, realizing the localization and domestic production of Safety Class 2 motor-operated three-way globe valves, breaking the foreign monopoly.

    The following appraisal opinion was formed: The product prototype completed analyses such as seismic and flow rate; passed performance tests including shell strength, disc strength, sealing, operation, as well as qualification tests such as hot/cold cycle life, thermal shock cycling, seismic, and nozzle load test. The analysis and test results meet the requirements of the development task document, appraisal outline, and relevant standards. The developed motor-operated three-way globe valve product prototype is successful, its main technical parameters and performance indicators have reached the advanced level of similar international products, and is suitable for deployment in nuclear power plants.

    (2) Scope of Application

    The Nuclear Class 2 Electric Three-Way Globe Valve is applied in the PTR system of third-generation nuclear power plant reactors. The normal operation of the valve can effectively ensure that the system performs the intended safety functions. The valve has functions such as changing flow direction, shut-off, flow regulation, diversion, pressure stabilization, flow division, or overflow, making it a multifunctional composite valve. The valve adopts a single-disc, double-seat structure with a two-inlet, one-outlet configuration. The seat assembly employs a modular structure, allowing for quick disassembly and facilitating maintenance.

    (3) Research and Development Investment

    Dalian Dagao invested a total of 2.986 million yuan in the research and development of the Nuclear Class 2 Electric Three-Way Globe Valve. A total of 4 pieces of equipment were purchased, including a precision box-type experimental electric furnace, a high-frequency infrared carbon-sulfur analyzer, an ultrasonic flaw detector, and a thickness gauge. The purchased equipment is mainly used for the processing and quality inspection of prototypes and test pieces. The material costs incurred were mainly used for prototype simulators, prototypes, test fixtures, appraisal test tooling, process tooling, machining fixtures, and consumables during the debugging and testing process.

    (4) Innovation Points

    1) Invention of a modular seat assembly with two-inlet, one-outlet function, enabling quick disassembly.

    2) Development of a cage sleeve structure capable of reducing noise and minimizing cavitation.

    3) The valve is equipped with a dashpot (shock absorber) mechanism, avoiding damage to the valve from overload forces caused by thermal effects and signal lag of the electric actuator.

    4) Adoption of a floating preloaded packing structure, preventing leakage due to reduced packing bolt preload caused by pressure and temperature fluctuations.

    (5) Achievement Application Status

    Since the successful development of the product prototype in this project, the application of the achievements has generated a direct additional output value of 8.6 million yuan, a net profit of 1.548 million yuan, and total taxes paid of 1.118 million yuan. Over 30 valves of this type are required per twin-unit third-generation nuclear power plant. The current total import price is approximately 12 million RMB. Preliminary estimates indicate that after localization, procurement cost savings of 6 million yuan can be achieved for dual-unit equipment, effectively reducing procurement costs while shortening the supply cycle and reducing spare parts procurement and maintenance costs.

    It has been successfully applied in the third-generation pressurized water reactor nuclear power unit Huizhou Taipingling Project. It is suitable for subsequent new nuclear power projects and in-service power plants, effectively reducing the construction and operational costs of nuclear power units, and possesses benefits for batch industrial application and market economic benefits.

    The Nuclear Class 2 Electric Three-Way Globe Valve is one of the key equipment for large advanced pressurized water reactor nuclear power units. Mastering the design and manufacturing technology of this type of valve and achieving localization are of great significance for breaking the monopoly supply of foreign enterprises and reducing the impact of the international political and economic environment on the development of China's nuclear power industry. Dalian Dagao has signed a supply contract for San'ao Project Units 1 and 2, LOT190Ca with China Nuclear Power Engineering Co., Ltd. The contract is currently being executed, and subsequent promotion to other nuclear power units and controlled sectors will be carried out simultaneously.

    (5) Intellectual Property Status

    The intellectual property achievements independently developed for the Nuclear Class 2 Electric Three-Way Globe Valve project have been analyzed through domestic and international patent searches, and no obstacle patents have been found. The project's intellectual property achievements possess independence and controllability. One utility model patent has been granted for "an electric three-way globe valve".
